The celebration of the Feast Day of Claude Poullart des Places, one of the 2 Spiritan founders.
World Mission Sunday
Share Your Faith - Give Life. It is the one Sunday in the year when the Mass is celebrated exclusively for missionary activity. Donations are collected at these worldwide Masses and they go, in their entirety, to support churches, hospitals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor. World Mission Sunday is our chance to show love and solidarity to our brothers and sisters overseas who share our faith. In offering our prayers, we join with missionaries everywhere in communion and compassion to support them in spreading the Good News, and by giving a donation we respond to Christ's call to feed the hungry and clothe the naked.

WORLD DAY OF THE POOR
The purpose of instituting the World Day of the Poor, according to Pope Francis is that: “We may think of the poor simply as the beneficiaries of our occasional volunteer work or of impromptu acts of generosity that appease our conscience. However good and useful such acts may be for making us sensitive to people’s needs and the injustices that are often their cause, they ought to lead to a true encounter with the poor and a sharing that becomes a way of life” (Message for the First World Day of the Poor, n. 3). Fr. Billy Swan notes that, “What Pope Francis is calling for is something more radical. He calls for a deep solidarity with the poor and a culture of encounter which leads to sharing with those who no longer remain strangers but become a brother or sister who needs me. When this encounter happens, true evangelization takes place where there is giving and receiving in both directions. We become good news for the poor but the poor in turn evangelize us. Only then can we be truly transformed and united in our joy in the praise of God.”

The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Sunday in the Octave of Christmas
Easter Triduum of the passion and resurrection of the Lord is the culmination of the entire liturgical year
It is finished—and it has just begun We can look high and low but we will not find a Catholic Mass celebrated anywhere on this day. There is a Good Friday service, to be sure, but there is no Mass. However, we will gather in churches throughout the world to hear scripture tell of the trial, death, and burial of Jesus. We will pray the prescribed 10 prayers of intercession. We will walk in procession to venerate the cross. And, on this second of the three sacred days this week that are known as the Triduum, we will receive the Eucharist, consecrated at the Mass of the Last Supper the night before. On this day of prayer and remembrance, do one thing to imitate the love and compassion of Jesus.
